For the past 20 years, I have been a full-time educator in both the public school and the University systems. Yoga, like running, I have been practicing for the past 13 years. With a focus on work-life balance research in my post-graduate degree at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I found yoga and mind-body awareness to infiltrate into my studies. It wasn't until the past 4 years, after sustaining a running injury, I really became focused on embedding yoga into my daily life. Fully recovered, I run a few times a week, but continue to elevate my yoga practice, which is grounded in Ashtanga style-yoga and proper alignment.
I enjoy teaching and found instructing yoga allows me to pursue my passion for finding mind-body balance while sharing with others not only my yoga practice but being role model for other Mexican-Americans in the yoga community. I am an E-RYT 500 hour, Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, I am able to teach Yoga Shred™-Inspired courses, which are part of the Yoga Tone series of classes. I have a separate cross-training class in PLYOGA®, where I offer 30-minute total body workouts. I have my Warriors at Ease Level 1 certification, allowing me to teach those effected by PTSD, sexual trauma, and TBI focused on those citizens in our first responder and military community using informed practices by the international WAE program. I am also trained in Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, BUTI Primal Flow, Mindfulness for Children. I am currently completing my Kundalini training and certification. My style of yoga is adaptive, and I enjoy pulling from all of my trainings to create functional body movements and help people find joy through yoga.
In addition to yoga, I have other interest like swimming, reading, and traveling. I have two dogs and two adult children. I look forward to sharing my practice and studio with you.
