Guidelines & Etiquette

General Guidelines

1. Remove your shoes upon entering.

2. Turn off your cell phone.

3. Arrive 5-10 minutes early. If you need to change your clothes before the class, please enter through Suite 1- the door to the south of ours.

4. Let the instructor know of any new injury or pregnancy.

5. Don't try to impress anyone- yoga is not a competition. If you reach the full expression of a pose, acknowledge it to yourself, but do not seek rewards for your effort. Attain what you can during your practice, then let it go.

6. Put your props away after class. Also, look at the instructors mat to see what props you may need before class begins. The instructor may also bring props to you during class.

7. Respect the space. Silence is typically observed, however, there are moments when we do need to laugh or talk. Just be mindful of the type of practice you have selected to attend. The studio space is safe zone. Do not chew gum — it’s distracting and unsafe. Never adjust the lights, fans, windows, or thermostat without permission.

8.Practice cleanliness. Apply the yogic principle of saucha, which means "cleanliness" or "purity." Personal hygiene is an integral part of practicing yoga. Ensure that you and your mat are clean before practice. Further, avoid heavy fragrances.

9. Honor your limits. Work from where you are, not where you think you should be. Never force to hold or attain a pose. Ask for modifications and practice your moves with control. Remember, it’s not a race.

10. Everyone is human (even yoga teachers!). Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. Learning from experience is just part of the process of yoga! Do the best you can and your yoga practice will reward you in many ways.

APPOINTMENT POLICY
Because of the nature of the studio, appointments are required. Yokore provides private and small class boutique professional yoga instruction by Yoga Alliance Certified instructors. To provide our clients with personal attention most class sizes do not exceed 6 participants.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Given the private nature of our studio, signing up means you are personally reserving a yoga instructor. Please do not sign up for a class and not show, there are fees involved. Please note, this is aimed to be a preventative measure rather than a penalty. Demand for our classes are very high, no-shows and no-cancels limit others from participating in classes and is disruptive to our Community.

MATS
The studio has mats available to rent, however, most yoga students bring their own mat. Studio mats are provided on a first-come-first serve basis. Mat cleaning solution is available to all students and instructors.

ROOM TEMPERATURES
Expect room temperatures to be between 72-86 degrees for cold yoga classes. Warm yoga classes range from 92 to 105 degrees.

WORKSHOPS
All workshop sales are final with no refunds. Arrive early (at least 5 minutes) to claim your spot. Workshops cannot be transferred to other workshops. Please be sure that you can attend before purchasing any workshop classes. Please wear loose-fitting comfortable clothes.
