Practicing yoga can be fun, challenging, calming, and frustrating. Here at Yokore Yoga we stress safety and listening your own body. We offer a variety of classes that vary in intensity.
Gentle yoga focuses on alignment and breathing techniques of the common, foundational yoga poses giving beginners ample opportunity to learn practice the basic principles. Gentle yoga teachers will share pose modifications so that everyone, at every fitness and comfort level, can participate.
Gentle yoga is a perfect complement your current higher intensity fitness routine. Maybe you are an avid CrossFitter, weightlifter, runner or swimmer or perhaps your prefer Cross Fit, running, or other HIIT group classes? On your rest days, you may want to add a practice of gentle yoga at home in order to stay active without the intensity.
Gentle Yoga is also for athletes. It is important to listen to your body and allow it some rest between more active workouts. In gentle yoga there isn’t any frustration of not being able to achieve a certain pose or any agitation in struggling to hold a pose. Gentle yoga for athletes is important because it is just that -- gentle. It will help strengthen and stretch the muscles that are in need some love and encourage your body to relax and rejuvenate before your next workout. We have special rates for secondary school teams and groups.
Vinyasa Yoga embraces a fitness approach to yoga postures. No two classes are alike. Vinyasa flow connects physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales. All yoga levels are welcome. This is also offered as a warm yoga class which elevates the heart rate and promotes detoxification.
Warriors at Ease WAE-Trauma Informed Yoga is military-specific, trauma-informed, evidence-based, adaptive yoga. Chair Yoga is an excellent way to loosen and stretch painful muscles, reduce stress, and improve circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance. Chair yoga is a great way for older adults to get the wonderful health benefits of yoga. Staying seated means that even frail seniors or those who aren’t flexible can safely do the exercises.
